Position Summary
This position is accountable for all aspects of safety to ensure compliance with the company’s standards of expectations and OSHA regulations. This includes responsibility for all safety related issues, communication of safety related matters, and being a liaison to employees regarding safety issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
  • Designs, implements, and manages all company safety policies and strategies to create an incident free safety culture and maintain a consistent safety culture across all NEBCO companies.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and provides safety training for new employee orientation, annual required programs, and ongoing safety training on various related topics and OSHA to ensure compliance with company safety policies, strategies, and OSHA regulations.
  • Stays updated on OSHA standards, regulatory changes, and guidelines and ensures employees are informed and adhere to updates.
  • Conducts on-site visits to company jobsites to ensure operations are being conducted safely and within company guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with local public agencies and suppliers.
  • Participates in and promotes safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Construction Management; or related field; and
  • Three years related experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid NE Drivers’ license.
  • OSHA-30 card or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of construction worksite safety practices and procedures.
  • Previous working knowledge of confined space standards and procedures, lock-out/tag-out, emergency fall protection and hearing protection.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to work irregular and/or extended work hours to meet business needs.

Condition of Employment:
