  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time Clinician position. Bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until greater than 3 months separation from employment.

~40 Hours/week, Full-time, Day shift~

Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker - Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor - Conditional (LCPC-C) is required; LADC is preferred.

MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and passionate Substance Use Treatment Clinician to provide counseling services to individuals seeking substance use and drug addiction treatment. We strive to form a positive working relationship that recognizes individual strengths and builds self-awareness. Our programs are based on evidence-based treatments that are client-centered, assisting people wherever they are in their recovery.

These clinical duties shall be directed toward the achievement of excellence in client care and will include:

  • Individual intake and psychosocial assessment;
  • Clinical triage;
  • Group facilitation within an intensive outpatient program setting;
  • Care coordination within the context of a medication-assisted treatment service;
  • Documenting the findings of evaluations and progress in clients' medical record;
  • Individual, couples, and family counseling as needed, maintaining contact with community resources for aftercare and providing comprehensive discharge planning services.

All services will be provided in a manner and language appropriate to the age and comprehensive level of the clients and their families.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Master's Degree in Social Work/Clinical Counseling from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work/Counselor Education required.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LMSW-CC (Licensed Master Social Worker, Conditional Clinical) or LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) required. State license to practice as a LADC and CADC preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of relevant experience in a substance abuse or mental health setting preferred.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Experience with clinical methods and techniques used in individual, family, and group therapy related to mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
