Vortex Optics is looking for a talented individual to join our Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of Outbound operations in a manner that provides an exceptional CARE experience. The ideal candidate will be able to navigate the challenges of leading large teams within systems and processes to deliver exceptional experience for all involved!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Understand basic and advanced pick/pack/ship best practices.
  • Responsible for accuracy of customer orders through work completed by direct and indirect reports.
  • Lead a diverse team of warehousing team members to exceed expectations for all internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for daily interactions with transportation partners to include resolving service discrepancies, ensuring the best result possible for our end customers.
  • Ensure thorough research and follow-up on all orders within the fulfillment process to guarantee timeliness and accuracy for our customers.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Team to modify or enhance pick/pack/ship processes to maximize effectiveness.
  • Work in partnership with Operations leadership team to identify, develop, and implement long-term strategies that support the growth of the business.
  • Develop and coach employee performance to uphold a positive culture through consistent and fair practices.
  • Lead and follow safety procedures in accordance with approved training; remedy and report any dangerous conditions immediately.
  • Function as a role model to staff by performing all department functions as necessary, demonstrating good work habits, encouraging clean and safe work habits, and promoting positive attitudes toward internal and external customers.
  • Attend and participate in all company-sponsored training programs as required.
  • Participate in team meetings by presenting and sharing information regarding services and overall updates as needed.
  • Understand the organization’s structure and services to positively impact business performance.
  • All functions are carried out in accordance with the policies and procedures of the company and its mission.
  • Continued self-development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of working with warehouse/fulfillment operations.
  • WMS and/or ERP experience.
  • Implementation experience.
  • Proven team leadership.
  • Career progression demonstrating increased responsibility and scope.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, accountable, and driven towards continuous improvement.
