The Role

As a Homeowner Program Coordinator, you’ll support Habitat for Humanity-Spokane’s mission by working one-on-one with program applicants and cultivating a homebuyer pre-purchase education curriculum (Habitat College) to benefit program applicants, future homeowners, and the community. This role reports to Habitat for Humanity’s Senior Program Manager.

  • Respond to inquiries about the homeownership program with information about the program and maintain any necessary waiting lists or application timelines.
  • Complete program applications by using a FHLB (Federal Home Loan Bank) approved income calculation sheet and program requirement sheets. This includes assessing overall financial situations by reviewing income, assets, debts & expenses, along with credit reports and other financial information.
  • Maintain paper and computer files of applicant’s information throughout underwriting process. Accurate data entry of applicant information in database.
  • Creates board document of applicants who have met all areas of need in compliance with Habitat and HUD guidelines.
  • Writes approval & denial letters as needed for clients. Provide action steps (if applicable) for denials.
  • Ensure current lending laws and HUD requirements are followed at all times.
  • Create projections based on conversion rate from applicant to future homeowner based on program and strategic goals.
  • Maintains Federal and State QLO Certification.
  • Keeping in compliance with RESPA, TILA and all fair housing and lending laws at all times is required.
  • Cultivate and implement a curriculum for Habitat College that is steered by industry professionals.
  • Manage professional relationships with teaching partners and seek out new partnerships as needed.
  • Complete no fewer than two full cycles of Habitat College per calendar year.
  • Orient future homeowners after they have been approved by the Board of Directors to ensure understanding of program requirements. Utilize both an individual and group orientation format allowing for introduction to other key departments and future homeowners.
  • Assistance in implementing policies, procedures and programs that serve program applicants, future homeowners and existing homeowners.
  • Provide information needed for grant application/compliance as requested.
  • Attend quarterly staff meetings and other staff events as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g, Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • One-year experience in a social services setting.
  • Basic mathematical skills including the ability to project and average.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients effectively.
  • Ability to teach classes of up to 50 participants.
  • Provide compassion with accountability.
  • Strategic thinking skills.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable disclosure requirements. Base Pay Range: $43,000. - $48,000. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operational business needs.
