Key Roles & Responsibilities
UNARMED: Performs prescribed duties on fixed posts in Substance Abuse-Psychology, and patrols campus buildings, parking lots and other University facilities to assure all areas are secure and free of hazards and suspicious/unauthorized persons. Patrols all assigned areas, giving special attention to problem areas. Assists visitors with directions and street locations, as well as various departments in the hospital and on campus.
ARMED: Provides security as an armed security officer to pick up deposits (cash and/or non-cash) and transfer to the appropriate bank and/or department utilizing specific departmental guidelines and procedures. Assures campus buildings occupied by Substance Abuse-Psychology, parking lots and other University facilities to assure all areas are secure and free of hazards and suspicious/unauthorized persons. Uses general computer skills to manipulate closed circuit screens/monitors to view different areas of the campus parking decks. Patrols all assigned areas, giving special attention to problem areas. A pay differential will be applied for armed security in this classification.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
- Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to make decisions independently
- Ability to learn, practice and adhere to safety standards
Hourly Range: $15.00 - $20.30
Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
