Total Solutions, Inc. (TSI) is seeking a skilled Instructional Systems Designer to support an upcoming contract with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This position will support design for distance education courses, such as self-study or web-based training. In addition, the position will provide instructional design support for instructor led training. The objective of this position is to enable NRC to deliver professional developed courses for distance learning.

Supported courses may address building technical skills, team building, aligning work with strategic goals, emotional intelligence, time or stress management, assertiveness, critical thinking, decision-making, skill-based mentoring, facilitation, conflict resolution, interpersonal communications, or negotiations.

Job requirements:

  • Proven track record of designing effective training using the ADDIE model
  • Experience using Moodle to design online training
  • Extensive experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Define and document learning objectives
  • Conduct research and collaborate with subject experts
  • Create instructional material: courses, curriculum, student guides, and training manuals
  • Create visual, audio, and interactive learning tools
  • Design content to optimize learning
  • Generate the layout of the learning materials
  • Conduct reviews with the NRC and update materials based on feedback
  • Review course evaluations and redesign content to ensure it matches the learner’s needs

Education Requirements:

  • Instructional Systems Design Certificate or related college degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience:

A minimum of three years of experience designing or customizing similar courses for other Federal government agencies, using the instructional systems design (ISD) methodology.

Clearance Requirement:

An Active Secret Clearance is required.

This contract is based in Chattanooga, TN but the work will be done off-site from any location.
