Overview:

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team-oriented individuals to work in our fast-paced warehouse. Working as a Part-time Sortation Associate, you will help facilitate the movement of product throughout the distribution center to company-owned branches. You will organize all outgoing orders by placing packages into totes and pallets in preparation for shipping. This is an entry-level position based out of our distribution center located at 4025 Finch Rd, Modesto, CA 95357.

Responsibilities:

• Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product.
• Organizing shipments into correct containers.
• Packing product in layers to ensure stability and efficient space usage.
• Identifying fragile product and processing accordingly.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area.
• Complying with health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings.

Required Position Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or over, due to the nature of work.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented.
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
• Work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed.
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs.
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY).

Preferred Position Qualifications:

• Prior experience operating a forklift.

The pay range for this position is $18/hr - $20/hr.
