Amentum is looking for experienced personnel to expand our healthcare technology development support capabilities at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).
Founded in 2022, ARPA-H is a Federal research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs – ranging from the molecular to the societal – to provide health solutions for all. ARPA-H advances high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity to develop solutions to society's most challenging health problems.
We are interested in individuals who have experience supporting leadership personnel at a Federal or State agency or major private sector company. Security Specialists will support the Chief Operating Officer (COO), regularly interacting with Government security personnel as well as Program Managers from throughout the Agency. Security Specialists will provide support and advise on a range of Research and Development (R&D) program security aspects, from assessing foreign influence and/or control to personnel clearance vetting.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide support to the COO, as well as personnel from other offices and directorates throughout the agency, on matters related to R&D program security, to include processes, reviews, and risks
- Prepare reports, briefs, and other documents and communications to convey security risk findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Review documentation and leverage software tools and systems to assess the security risk of individuals, organizations, and programs
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in any field with at least 15 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience with federal government requirements regarding research security and due diligence
- Experience leading federal or contractor programs or strategies in accordance with federal requirements for research security and countering undue foreign influence
- The demonstrated professionalism, maturity, sound judgement, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for daily interactions with executive-level audiences in a dynamic, high-visibility support office environment
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting as circumstances dictate
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Highly Desired Attributes:
- Experience developing new processes in start-up organizations
- Experience with reviews of proposed or current vendors for compliance with federal requirements regarding foreign ownership, control, or influence
- Experience with supply chain risk management (SCRM) and Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) reviews
- Experience with personnel clearance vetting systems and processes
- Experience with security databases and systems such as the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), National Background Investigation Service (NBIS), and the National Industrial Security System (NISS)
- Experience with facilities security, insider threat, and security response plans
- ARPA-H experience
- Other ARPA agency (DARPA, IARPA, ARPA-E, etc.) experience
- National Institute of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), or Department of Defense (DoD) experience
- Experience in a R&D environment
Hybrid and telework options are likely but residence within Washington, DC metropolitan area is desired.
