Position Summary & Responsibilities:

The QA Auditor, under the direction of the Factory Hygienist, performs food safety, food defense, and compliance audits, GMP audits and associated work notification entries, line release inspections after exceptional conditions, HACCP review and update support, quality investigations, sensory team support, oversees the maintenance hold tag system, assists with developing safety and product protection plans, and performs other duties as assigned by management. The position requires in-depth knowledge of food manufacturing and auditing methodologies. This position also requires effective communication skills to work with a variety of cross-functional customers.

Requirements and Minimum Education Level:

Associate’s degree in food science, or related technical field, or 3 years equivalent work experience.

Employee must support and comply with all Nestlé programs and policies, including, affirmative action goals and commitments, SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) strategies, corporate citizenship initiatives, NCE (Nestle Continuous Excellence), TPM (Total Performance Management), GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Safety Policies to ensure employee safety and product quality. Employee must meet all requirements related to NQMS (Nestle Quality Management System) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards for Quality, Food Safety, Environmental Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety.

Safety and Environmental

Associate shall follow factory safety & environmental objectives & targets follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs. Understand the environmental aspects of the position, as indicated on the aspects and impacts sheets, and take action to reduce these environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water etc. Will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.)

Quality

Associate shall follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets follow Nestlé Good Manufacturing Practices, report food safety and quality issues immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to Nestlé Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs. Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.

Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a food production facility is preferred.
  • Auditing certifications (e.g. FSSC22000) preferred.

Skills:

  • Effective communicator with training, facilitation, and supervisory skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Must be capable of working with minimal direct supervision and have strong prioritization, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills.
  • Computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required. SAP and Statistical software experience is preferred.
  • Experience performing audits in a food production facility is preferred. Military auditing/inspection experience may be considered in lieu of food auditing experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays.
