We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support our heavy civil construction and public works projects. This role is ideal for candidates with a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and 2+ years of industry experience as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, or similar role. If you're eager to learn, possess strong math and analytical skills, and have an eye for detail, we'll provide the training and resources to grow your career as a construction estimator.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist in preparing cost estimates for heavy civil and public works projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior estimators to analyze project requirements, bid documents, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in bidding processes by gathering data and preparing documentation.
  • Conduct research on material costs, subcontractor bids, and labor projections to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Leverage software tools to create, maintain, and refine cost estimates and proposals.
  • Assist in identifying risks, opportunities, and scope gaps in project plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of estimates and reports to stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate Should Possess

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy civil construction or public works (e.g., as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, etc.). Previous experience as an estimator is not required - we'll train the right candidate.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
    • Experience with software like Heavy Bid, HeavyJob, InEight, Bluebeam, Trimble Business Center (TBC), and Primavera P6 is preferred but not necessary.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
