We are seeking a Technical Designer - Apparel to join our team at Coutura LLC dba Luly Yang Design Group (lydgstudio.com).

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain Fit and Grading for brand and client programs.
  • Support Project and production management as needed by company.
  • Consult and work with Design and PD to achieve fit and Aesthetic of style intent throughout the sampling and approval process.
  • Ensures clear understanding of specs, construction and pass on to vendors/factories while maintaining consistency in fit and quality standards.
  • Be able to troubleshoot with overseas vendors to explain construction, fit, grading and pattern issues by any means necessary in order to achieve best options which benefits the garment and the company while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self manages workload and prioritize projects with a sense of urgency.
  • Adhere to deadline and priorities on the development and production calendar while communicating exceptions or potential issues to the team.
  • Work with cross functional partners to meeting all deadline and anticipate potential delay.
  • Lead fittings to review all rounds of samples to ensure specs and construction are followed correctly.
  • Ensure overall fit, balance, and details of garment from prototype, JSS through production are correct.
  • Meeting with design for hand off of new development styles.
  • Collaborate with Designers, Production, and PD in order to be cost effective while meeting LYC quality standard.
  • Responsible for creating precision tech packs for overseas sample rooms and production.
  • Manage and maintain consistent fit and grade rules
  • Developer of pattern block(s) for various target fits as needed.
  • Ability to Review and approve pattern and graded pattern including size set sample.
  • Build Strong sustaining long-term relationships with internal team, vendor partners/factories.
  • Follow current market trends, styling and construction engineering to continue to grow within the role as a Technical Designer.

Requirements :

  • 5-7+ years of experience in men and Women’s apparel
  • This candidate will be an independent thinker and an excellent team player with the ability to proactively problem solve.
  • Efficiency with PLM system.
  • Microsoft office, Excel and Illustrator a must.
  • Experience in product engineering
  • Patternmaking experience a must.
  • Ability to work in a multi cultural environment.
