Position Overview

As our Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. You will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations while providing strategic insights that support our mission and growth. Your expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance will guide the financial health of OnyxMP as we scale our business and further disrupt the healthcare industry. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
    • Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:
    • Develop and manage company-wide budgets and forecasts, providing insights to leadership on financial performance and strategic adjustments.
    • Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial trends to ensure healthy financial growth.
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
    • Design and maintain robust financial systems and controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Manage and mentor a growing team of financial professionals.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, operations, marketing) to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting:
    • Provide monthly and ad hoc financial reports to senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and growth opportunities.
    • Analyze financial data and develop actionable insights to help drive business strategy and optimize profitability.
  • Tax Management:
    • Oversee the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Risk Management:
    • Assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly closing processes and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Work closely with the executive team to analyze financial performance and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Lead financial review meetings with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring clear communication of financial performance.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • CCA, CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 4-5+ years of experience in finance and accounting,
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and managing P&L.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Proficient in financial management software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, or similar tools).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing financial operations for a scaling company or business unit.
  • Worked with or for a remote-first company.
  • Work out of Florida.
  • E-commerce or DTC experience.
