The Capital One Software Communications team is seeking an experienced and confident communications leader who is obsessed with inspiring change through innovative experiences, content, and storytelling.

About The Role:

Capital One is looking for a strategic, results-driven communications professional to join a talented group of integrated communicators on our Corporate Communications team. This role is uniquely positioned to support the Capital One Software business and work alongside business and technology partners within the organization. On the Capital One Software Communications team, you will be responsible for working with key executives and their leadership teams to understand areas of need and build sustainable communications strategies designed to share the vision of the organization as well as engage, empower and inspire associates. With a focus on executive and internal communications, you will be a part of a talented team who brings the organizational strategy to life for our associates. You will be responsible for executive-level communications and strategic storytelling to support the leaders and initiatives within our organizations.

This position requires exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills; experience consulting executives; the ability to lead projects and work with multiple stakeholders or partners to meet objectives; and a proven track record of building trusted relationships and influencing key stakeholders to achieve the best results with associates, customers and the business in mind.

Our Ideal Candidate Has Experience:

  • Working closely with leadership to build out, manage, and execute strategic, creative communication campaigns through editorial, video, and graphic content
  • Collaborating with teams across the enterprise to write engaging and compelling content
  • Building relationships within technology and communications communities of practice
  • Utilizing traditional marketing channels, communications tactics, change management practices, and social media
  • Leveraging measurement plans and data to formulate and evolve strategies and campaigns
  • Ability to present complex, subject matter in a professional, concise, and compelling manner
  • Easily adapts to change and takes on a growth mindset approach
  • Creative, integrative problem-solving and structured thinking
  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities Include:

  • Build and execute strategic plans for top of house and executive-level leader communications
  • Lead with the customer and translate needs into thoughtful strategy
  • Write, proofread, and edit communications needed to support strategic plans
  • Effectively leverage a suite of communication channels - like email, Slack, video, and internal platforms, - while innovating on new channel opportunities
  • Work effectively in cross-functional teams to advance the team and leadership’s communication strategy and implement a range of creative solutions to reach key target audiences

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: corporate communications, multi-channel marketing, internal business communications, or leading large-scale organizational change and communication projects
  • 2+ experience working with a technology-oriented company
  • Experience with organizational change communications

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Plano, TX: $115,200 - $131,500 for Communications Manager
McLean, VA: $126,700 - $144,600 for Communications Manager
Richmond, VA: $115,200 - $131,500 for Communications Manager
New York, NY: $138,300 - $157,800 for Communications Manager

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
