Job Overview

The Benefits Analyst is primarily focused on supporting the operational administration of employee benefit programs with a focus on supporting Benefits Administration with a third-party vendor. Ensures administrative program compliance with established business rules and promotes efficient processing, including by providing vendor coaching as applicable. Provides support to 401K program owner with funding, audit support, employee escalations, and service requests. Key deliverables include program audits and analysis to identify emerging issues, as well as reconciliations, various program funding, and reporting. In addition, this role will assist with process design, improvements, documentation, system configuration and set-up within the various systems. This role provides back up and support to the Sr. Manager, Benefit Operations, to senior members of the Benefits team, and HR Partners as needed. Participates in Benefit projects, including internal technical projects and communication efforts.

**This is a hybrid role (3 days/week in the office) and based in Overland Park, KS**

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports critical elements of various benefit operation processes. Monitors vendor and internal process performance through data and metrics, reconciles transactions, and performs cyclical process review. Adjusts processes as business, systems, and regulations dictate. Provides ongoing feedback to vendor partners and to other members of the Benefits Operations team to maintain a high level of vendor and internal operational performance.
  • Supports Benefits Operations team with complicated employee escalations, researching technical issues and resolving them, representation in HR Technical projects impacting benefits, and supports M&A activities.
  • Collaborates with and supports 401K Program Owner with administering and operating the 401k savings program, including funding, audits, employee escalations, and service requests.
  • Supports key compliance activities, ensuring plans are operating in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Includes consulting with legal resources to interpret laws and implement any needed actions or processes.
  • Creates process documentation and implements process improvements; creates reports and tools to improve accuracy, and helps design new processes, procedures, and audits to improve effectiveness, compliance, and standard processes. Trains other team members on processes, including sharing new ideas to create efficiencies.
  • Supports Benefits Operations team with Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or other related degree; equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement
  • 2-3 years experience with retirement plan or other benefit administration
  • 2-3 years experience using HR and payroll systems
  • Ability to solve problems through quantitative and qualitative analysis in a team-based environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently, conduct research, formulate conclusions and present conclusions regarding complex business issues.
  • Functional understanding of benefits, payroll, tax, and 401K plan practices
  • Strong skills in Excel as required to perform ongoing reconciliations and audits of large data sets.
  • Operates with a team spirit to support program owners on operational components of their programs. Is determined to seek opportunities, find solutions, and offer possible enhancements to program owners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to provide effective and clear verbal and written feedback to vendor partners to maintain and enhance operational performance.
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

Base Pay Range: $61,000 - $110,100

Corporate Bonus Target: 10%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
