Chun Kerr LLP (the “Firm”) is a mid-sized Honolulu-based law firm, specializing in real estate and finance; business transactions and organizations; financial recovery, foreclosure, insolvency and bankruptcy; business, commercial and real estate litigation; select tax services; and complex trust and estate planning and is seeking an experienced litigation legal assistant. Duties are as assigned, primarily supporting the litigation area, which includes bankruptcy and financial recovery, but may also be required by other practice groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to
- Clerical support
- Document management
- Practice management
- Case administration
- Client billing
- Court filings
- Calendaring
- Documentation preparation and modification
- Research and Analysis
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- 3 years’ experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary in a commercial litigation practice(s) in Hawaii
- Experience with and understanding of court rules and filing procedures
- Experience preparing and/or writing litigation documents, including pleadings, summonses, motions, and subpoenas
- Keen eye to detail with a strong ability to proofread legal documents
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and be resourceful
- Builds rapport and collaborative relationships within the Firm and with clients
- Adapts to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Takes initiative; adopts the client-focused philosophy of a problem solver
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word
- Experience with practice management software, document management systems, and court filing systems
- Experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary in a Bankruptcy practice(s) in Hawaii with experience with and understanding of bankruptcy court rules and filing procedures
- Experience operating a computerized or manual event management system (e.g. JuraLaw), including maintaining tickler files or calendars
- Experience as a paralegal or with a paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program
- Experience with Coyote Analytics and iManage
- Experience using Styles in MS Word
- Experience with MS Planner
- Hourly employee with potential for overtime, if approved in advance
