ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provides leadership to the tellers and bankers through superior example and implementing and supporting all management-approved decisions and bank philosophies
  • Processes complex Retail Banking transactions. Open, maintain, and close all types of accounts which include checking, savings, certificates of deposit, IRA and HSA accounts, etc.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Bank policies and applicable laws, interviews, hires, and trains associates. Plans, assigns, and directs work, conducts all teller 6 x 4/2 process. Schedules for maximum productivity and customer service; organizes department for participation in meetings, classes, etc. Reward and discipline associates as required and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Processes branch overdraft/NSF list
  • Performs account maintenance including stop payments, account type changes, debit card disputes, etc.
  • Accurately process customer transactions, including receiving deposits, withdrawals, verifying cash, endorsements, issuing receipts, loan payments, cashing checks, issuing cashier and checks, redeeming savings bonds, providing customer account printouts and scans work for remote capture
  • Ensure each teller balances every day; provides assistance to locate any differences; and ensures that all differences are properly initialed and, if required, reported to the Branch Manager immediately
  • Balance ATM machine and maintain appropriate cash level for the ATM and vault; Balances transactions at end of day and verifies cash totals. Monitors balancing of staff cash drawers, audits when required and completes necessary reports and balances required internal accounts
  • Maintains and enhances customer relationships/portfolio by cross-selling additional products/services through in-person sales sessions as well as phone, written correspondence and maintaining high product knowledge by learning new selling techniques, new products, and market trends
  • Actively participates in all promotional activities and training sessions conducted by the bank
  • Completes daily computer work and documentation; Maintains lobby appearance and directs lobby traffic when necessary
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Responsible for leading the team at your location, coaching associates for growth and development along with adherence to bank policy and procedures

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Remains informed of changes in Bank Policies and Procedures and Products.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required Position demands a person who has been an above-average teller with the ability to give and accept instruction and desire to oversee and assist others
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years supervisor experience including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, and directing work; performance management and problem resolution
  • Minimum 2 years of banking experience to include teller and/or new account experience or the successful completion of Cornhusker Bank's One Year Teller Proficiency testing
  • Interpersonal skills to represent the Bank in a positive way in dealing with customers and other employees
  • Adherence to schedule in a structured work environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written and non-verbal communication skills
  • Must have finger dexterity to use a keyboard, telephone, paper, files and other equipment and objects.
  • Must be able to read reports and use computer
  • Frequent walking and standing
  • Rare lifting and/or carrying up to 62 lbs. Occasional stooping, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling
