Summary
The Accounting Specialist analyzes accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Utilizes AP data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvements or cost savings. Analyzes and reports buying patterns, performance indicators, and financial metrics and relays conclusions to management. Communicates with vendors as needed and investigates and resolves discrepancies in billings and payments. Collaborates with adjacent departments to streamline processes and recommends improvements to accounts payable policies and procedures. May be responsible for processing payments and responding to vendor inquiries.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable.
- Process invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure proper approvals.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
- Accounts Receivable.
- Generate and send out invoices.
- Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Expense Management.
- Review employee expense submissions for accuracy, adherence to policy and proper documentation is provided.
- Assist with preparation of billable expenses.
- Prepare expense file for upload into ERP system.
- Reconciliation
- Reconcile various accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
- Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
