Position Summary:

The Alarm Technician Lead at Marmic Fire and Safety oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire and safety systems. Responsibilities include managing a team of technicians, ensuring high standards in technical operations, and handling customer interactions. This role involves traveling to customer sites to clean kitchen exhaust systems, requiring the use of pressure washing equipment and working primarily at night.

Core Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of technicians, providing ongoing coaching and support.
  • Check schedules, manage supplies and equipment for field technicians, and coordinate daily activities.

Technical Oversight:

  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Perform and supervise cleaning of kitchen exhaust systems using appropriate equipment.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with project managers for project planning and execution. Conduct quality checks on field technicians’ work.
  • Ensure all field technicians are equipped with necessary tools and supplies.

Customer Interaction:

  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers, ensuring high satisfaction levels.
  • Respond to on-call tasks and manage vehicle-related emergencies.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Implement quality control procedures, ensuring all work meets safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and ensure compliance across all tasks.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of service activities and prepare detailed reports on project progress.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improving processes and service delivery, enhancing operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in fire and safety systems installation and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to handle job-related equipment.
  • Drug-free with pre-employment testing.
  • Physically fit, capable of performing demanding tasks.
  • Flexible schedule for nighttime and daytime work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Fire Protection or related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and project management.
