Reporting to the Central Scheduling Supervisor, this position accepts incoming calls, schedules patient appointments in various divisions, and utilizes appropriate scheduling system and software according to procedure type, knowledge of protocols, privileges, and block time, when appropriate. This position also initiates the billing processes by collecting, entering, and verifying pertinent patient data and insurance information.

Position Duties

  • Answers telephones in a timely and professional manner and notifies referring office of patient appointment day, time and location.
  • Schedules patient examinations for all modalities, cancels and/or reschedules appointments as necessary, and corrects or modifies discrepancies in scheduling; scheduling modalities.
  • Participates in a variety of unit and hospital education programs to maintain current skills and competency levels.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
