Summary:

Paragon, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC), is seeking an Environmental Operations Manager to support and develop environmental work on the East Coast. The role includes the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of environmental remediation projects, with a focus on meeting cost objectives related to contracting, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and bidding of major projects. A degree in engineering, geology, or a related field is required, along with the ability to independently develop environmental projects.

Qualifications - Experience, Education, and Licensure

  • 10+ years of experience in remediation/environmental projects.
  • BS in Geology or Environmental Engineering.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Experience in hiring, directing, and training field personnel.
  • Background in business and construction management.
  • Ability to obtain military base passes and operate vehicles on federal facilities.
  • Minimum of five years managing federal contracts, particularly with DoD.
  • Technical writing expertise and experience as a subject matter expert on environmental work.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word, Project, and PowerPoint.

Necessary Physical Requirements

  • Maneuver around contaminated and construction sites.
  • Maintain physical condition for sitting, walking, standing, lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Work in an office setting and travel as required.

Work Environment

  • Modern office setting with exposure to computer screens.
  • Driving and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Possible travel up to a week out of the office.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage the selection, training, development, appraisal, and assignments of project personnel.

Additional Qualifying Factors

  • Pre-employment drug screening and background check may be required.
  • BSNC gives hiring preference to shareholders and their descendants meeting qualifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with Federal Government customers.
  • Develop proposals, pricing, work plans, and technical requirements for bids.
  • Hire key personnel and manage field staff.
  • Develop key subcontractors and vendors for successful contract execution.
  • Implement office policies and establish standards and procedures.
  • Create a team atmosphere through leadership and employee development.
  • Monitor quality control, safety, and efficiency for projects.
  • Occasional travel to jobsites and meetings may be required.
