Data Science Consultant

What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Scientist with consulting skills to join our Defense and Security Segment, where the individual will develop data modeling and visualization to provide insight into workforce challenges, prepare and present Human Resource reports and data analysis to clients. The individual will be working as part of a broader Human Capital data consulting team to guide new and existing projects from implementation through execution. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities of this role are as follows, to include but not limited to:

• Develop methods for querying, visualizing, aggregating, correlating, and analyzing big data
• Develop and implement strategies for optimizing data processes and databases, including the exposure of new datasets, migration of legacy datasets, visualization of data, or faster querying of data
• Build custom tools/solutions to automate analytic endeavors using Office 365 tools
• Develop best practice tradecraft techniques that are repeatable and can be explained to users

What You Will Need:

• An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TOP SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree
• FIVE (5) or more years of experience in Business Administration and/or Data Analytics, or related discipline
• ** This role is 100% onsite **

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Experience with MS Forms and Power Automate. Ability to support clients in identifying and addressing needs, building relationships, and driving solutions forward and experience leading small teams.
• M.S./M.A. in Data Science/Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, or similar quantitative/computational discipline.
• Experience performing data science / analytics, such as statistical modelling, predictive analysis, or machine learning using Python or R.
• Experience developing reports and dashboards for business intelligence, utilizing Data Visualization tools such as Tableau
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Exceptional facility with standard software, including Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint), and an excellent ability to learn and work with other software
