Senior Compensation Specialist

What we are looking for:
Yazaki is looking for a Sr. Compensation Specialist to join our Human Resources team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.
The Sr. Compensation Specialist provides measurable input into designing and maintaining compensation plans and processes supporting business strategies. Administers compensation programs and policies to provide wage and nonwage programs provided to employees. They will provide advice and counsel to all levels of management on organizational design, compensation, and related issues. The Sr. Compensation Specialist will also participate in compensation surveys and forums to remain abreast of changes and trends in the field.
What you will be doing:
- Administer and coordinate salary administration programs for all Yazaki North America organizations (US and Canada)
- Evaluate position descriptions to determine classification and salary supporting the job structure.
- Lead Merit and/or Incentive Compensation processes
- Administer personalization, equity adjustment, and promotion processes
- Work closely with corporate management to communicate and reinforce Compensation policies
- Improve Pay for Performance practices while maintaining Yazaki North America pay philosophies
- Analyze positions to support salary/position structure and FLSA status
- Support international compensation initiatives and global integration (North and Central America, Europe and Japan)
- Coordinate and complete compensation surveys conducted by other companies
- Design and conduct compensation surveys
- Benchmark positions and salaries across the company to ensure market competitiveness
- Evaluate positions using an established evaluation system as a key member of the Job Evaluation Committee (JEC) – North America, Central America, Europe and Japan
- Educate and train management on Compensation and Performance Management practices
- Project Management
- Support team members – double-checking formulas and analysis to ensure accuracy
What you will bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience preferred
- CCP certification desired
- 3 years’ experience in Compensation required
- 5 years’ experience in Compensation preferred, with some exposure to Benefits
- Desirable: Bilingual in Spanish
- Experience with SuccessFactors is a plus
- Process oriented, ability to meet deadlines, excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to think critically
