Visionary Homes is passionate about building beautiful homes that will stand the test of time. We are looking to add a Purchasing Estimator?to join our Purchasing and Estimating team.?

This position will be based out of our Layton or Logan Utah office.

Job Overview

The?Estimator?is responsible for performing estimating and budgeting on Residential Construction projects.??

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and specifications for constructability
• Prepare detailed takeoffs using PlanSwift
• Manage bidding process, including:
• Obtaining proposals, bidding proposals, scopes, contracting, and change order process (back-end support for Project Managers)
• Research raw materials suppliers and comparing costs.
• Negotiate purchase and trade agreements.
• Develop inventory controls to identify demand for new materials.
• Develop and execute purchasing strategies.
• Track metrics to reduce expenses.
• Manage and maintain positive relationships suppliers and trade partners
  
  

Education/Experience

• Previous estimating experience in the industry (ideally in the Utah Market)
• Experience with construction plans is a plus
• Education in Construction Management, Business Management, Accounting/Finance, or other related field preferred
• Strong analytical skills and great attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and specifications
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office and takeoff software
