A Square Group (ASG) is seeking a highly accomplished and results-oriented professional to join our team as the Director of Software Procurement. We are seeking an individual with extensive procurement expertise, exceptional negotiation acumen, and offers a results-driven mindset to manage high-value vendor relationships that drive significant cost savings, enhance operational efficiency, and help ASG to become a leader in software procurement innovation for our federal clients. As a Senior Director you will bring extensive procurement expertise, outstanding negotiation skills, and a visionary mindset bringing creative thought leadership ideas that result in substantial financial benefits. The Director of Software Procurement will be at the forefront of ASG's strategic transition to becoming a Value-Added Reseller (VAR), leveraging your deep industry knowledge and existing vendor relationships to secure competitive discounts and favorable terms. By establishing ASG as a trusted procurement partner, your key responsibilities will be to lead high-value negotiations, aligning procurement strategies with organizational goals, and developing vendor relationships that yield maximum value. Through innovative thinking and leadership acumen, you will bring forward-thinking procurement strategies, for our clients to manage their software investments effectively and transparently, positioning the agencies for long-term success and fiscal responsibility. This role will be instrumental in shaping ASG’s growth trajectory, building a procurement framework that delivers measurable savings year-over-year for our clients.
What You Will Do
Your primary responsibility will be to lead all vendor negotiations with a focus on achieving substantial cost savings, securing favorable terms, and implementing capped annual price increases to benefit ASG and our clients. You will plan, negotiate, and execute ASG's transition to becoming a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) by collaborating with top-tier software vendors to position ASG as a VAR, obtaining deeper discounts, favorable terms, and serving as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all vendor engagements with CMS. You will ensure transparent and consistent communications, while implementing strategies to centralize the procurement process. This includes streamlined workflows, bulk purchasing, and enterprise licensing agreements to drive efficiency and reduce costs. Annual cost-benefit analyses will be conducted to showcase achievements and outline strategies for driving ongoing cost savings, including the elimination of underutilized and redundant software licenses, ensuring the delivery of reoccurring financial benefits.
Your innovative mindset will advance procurement processes through automation in software asset management (SAM), improving tracking, compliance, and administrative efficiency. Working with the ASG procurement team, you will explore emerging technologies like AI and machine learning to optimize vendor evaluation and procurement strategies, while promoting competition by exploring alternative software vendors to achieve greater cost savings and better favorable terms. Collaborating closely with Client stakeholders, including task area leaders and finance teams, you will align procurement efforts with organizational goals. You will be expected to provide data-driven reports on projected cost savings, performance, and vendor management to senior leadership, demonstrating thought leadership and strategic insights to address growth opportunities and improve software management results.

Requirements
What We Need:
- The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, and\or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) degree.
- Will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in software procurement, vendor management, or related fields, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- The candidate should have a proven track record of managing complex procurement negotiations and achieving substantial cost savings, as well be able to demonstrate ability to lead procurement transformations, including transitioning to a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) model.
- Ability to establish credibility and rapport with vendor and customer leadership and technical and non-technical team members alike.
- Strong organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills.
- Expertise in federal contracting and compliance is highly desirable.
- The role will require strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels effectively.
- Knowledge and experience working with Government Agencies.
- Ability to travel to Client and Vendor locations for face-to-face meetings, as needed.
- You should be proficient in software asset management tools and procurement automation technologies, possess an analytical mindset to interpret data and develop actionable strategies, and excel in project management to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust.
- U.S. Resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
