The School of Education is seeking a proactive and organized Program Assistant to work alongside the administration in the design, implementation, and management of various academic and professional programs that support students and faculty, both locally and globally. This part-time position requires someone confident in managing multiple tasks, ensuring the smooth execution of programs, and fostering collaboration across diverse groups. The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative and organizational skills, a high level of comfort with technology, and the ability to handle both day-to-day operations and special projects that advance the goals of the School of Education. The School of Education Assistant will further the mission and strategy of the SOE by providing general administrative support and program coordination.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for the Deans and Faculty, including but not limited to calendars/scheduling, clerical assistance, correspondence, meeting/agenda preparation, etc.
  • Assists with SOE processes, functions, and projects.
  • Assists in project management through logistical coordination and support of events.
  • Provides logistical support for global engagement programs and local fieldwork/clinical office.
  • Develops/maintains databases, tracks data and other metrics, and assists with assessment initiatives.
  • Participates in SOE staff and planning meetings.

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to live and uphold the University’s Christ-centered mission and values.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications – including but not limited to Google workspace, Box, Office, Canva and virtual meeting space.
  • A thorough knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices.
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers; and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training.
