As a rapidly growing condiments and dressings contract manufacturer, we are seeking an experienced accounting and finance leader to join our team. This role will strengthen the financial health and operational efficiency of our plant. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be a critical leader overseeing inventory control, overhead management, and cost accounting, while developing more robust, structured, and proactive processes. Roles And Responsibilities

General Financial Ownership:

  • Develop and professionalize financial and accounting structures to support our growing food manufacturing plant.
  • Support the development and tracking of annual budgets and forecasts for all plant operations, including standard cost targets for materials, labor, overhead, and capital expenditures.

Improvements & Process Optimization

  • Gain a deep understanding of our ERP system, reviewing inventory and job close transactions to ensure accuracy and explain monthly material variances.
  • Monitor cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Continually improve cost accounting procedures, data accuracy, efficiency, and overall financial accounting systems.
  • Implement budget controls and tracking mechanisms to ensure operational and financial metrics for manufacturing and capital expenditures are met.
  • Support the accounting team (A/R, A/P, data entry, consultants) to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

Financial Reporting

  • Ensure the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, including audit support.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly/quarterly business reporting packages, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit & loss statements, in accordance with GAAP.
  • Perform Capex and productivity reconciliations and provide in-depth financial analysis to communicate actionable insights.
  • Assist external CPA with the preparation and review of complex technical accounting models related to revenue recognition, lease accounting, and share-based compensation accounting.
  • Manage the annual external audit/review and tax processes.

Required

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance leadership roles with increasing responsibilities, including FP&A, manufacturing controlling, cost accounting, and business partnering.
  • Manufacturing-specific accounting experience (3+ years), with a deep understanding of cost accounting and financial management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, control and reporting, and product costing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  • Hands-on leader with the ability to manage both high-level strategy and day-to-day operations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on pragmatically solving immediate challenges.
  • High ethical standards and a reputation for integrity, trust, and respect in the workplace.

Preferred

  • Public accounting background.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central and/or Just Foods ERP systems.
  • Experience as a Site or Plant Controller.
