About The Team And Role

We are seeking a UI/UX designer who will be responsible for crafting user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for digital products like websites and mobile apps, focusing on creating a positive user experience by conducting user research, designing wireframes and prototypes, collaborating with development teams, and ensuring the final design aligns with brand guidelines and user needs; essentially, they bridge the gap between aesthetics and usability to optimize user interaction with a product.

Responsibilities

• User Research: Conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors to inform design decisions.
• Information Architecture: Create sitemaps and user flows to map out the structure and navigation of a digital product.
• Wireframing and Prototyping: Design low-fidelity and high-fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts and gather feedback.
• Visual Design: Develop visual elements like layout, color schemes, typography, and iconography to create a cohesive and visually appealing interface.
• Interaction Design: Define how users interact with the interface, including transitions, animations, and micro-interactions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design implementation aligns with project goals. Ability to work cross-functionally with other Compass Mining teams.
• Accessibility: Design products with accessibility in mind, considering users with disabilities.
• A/B Testing and Iteration: Conduct usability tests to gather feedback and iterate on designs based on user data.
• Design Documentation: Create detailed design specifications and style guides for developers to follow.
• Design System Experience: Assist in managing Compass Mining's internal design system to ensure product consistency. This includes maintaining and refining components, styles, and patterns within Figma, collaborating with developers for accurate implementation, and documenting guidelines for internal use.
  
  

Qualifications

• Design Skills: Strong visual design sense, proficiency in design software (Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch)
• User Research Methods: Ability to conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability testing
• Prototyping Skills: Experience with prototyping tools to create interactive prototypes
• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to present design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze user data and identify pain points to develop effective solutions
  
  

Nice To Haves

• Experience with data analytic platforms (google analytics, mixpanel, hotjar etc.)
• Basic project management skills and familiarity with tools like Jira are a plus, showcasing your ability to organize tasks, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
