Position Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) conducts Pre and Post evaluations of new suppliers based on their ability to supply product in accordance with contractual requirements. For existing approved suppliers, the SQE manages and monitors supplier performance by engaging interested parties to mitigate risk and to eliminate the impact of vendor caused defects to Marvin Engineering through rapid defect containment, resolution, and root cause and corrective action.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $70,000 to $84,000
Travel Requirements
This position will require approximately 25% - 75% travel.

Position Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) conducts Pre and Post evaluations of new suppliers based on their ability to supply product in accordance with contractual requirements. For existing approved suppliers, the SQE manages and monitors supplier performance by engaging interested parties to mitigate risk and to eliminate the impact of vendor caused defects to Marvin Engineering through rapid defect containment, resolution, and root cause and corrective action.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Generate weekly metrics to understand trends and performance of suppliers.
- Maintain and analyze supplier score cards and its raw data.
- Issue and review Supplier Notifications (SNs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) when required.
- Maintain SCAR process and ensure proper root cause identification and effective corrective and preventive action.
- Attend Receiving Inspection huddles or shop floor huddles as requested.
- Prepare detailed supplier visitation reports to document site visits, audit findings, observations, and actions.
- Conduct supplier quality system audits/surveys as required to determine core competencies and whether or not a supplier should be retained or removed from the Approved Suppliers List (ASL).
- Communicate product and paperwork Quality Notification (QNs) issues to suppliers as needed and help develop corrective actions.
- Conduct supplier site visits to deliver score cards, provide RCCA training, assist with SCAR process, etc.
- Build relationships with cross-functional groups to identify, reduce and ultimately eliminate impacts from vendor defects.
- B.S. degree required, in Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred.
- 0 – 3 years of experience, preferably in the aerospace and defense industry.
- Basic understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings preferred.
- Basic knowledge of industry specifications and standards (e.g., AS9100, ANSI, ASME) preferred.
- Basic knowledge of government and regulatory requirements preferred.
- Basic knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes preferred.
- Basic knowledge of inspection methods a plus.
- Knowledge of Quality Engineering tools (e.g., Cause Map, 5-Why) preferred.
- Technical writing skills preferred.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office; with emphasis on Excel manipulation of data and metrics.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
- Work in a team environment and must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Lean and/or Green Belt training a plus.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
- Familiarity with SAP a plus.
- Fast paced office environment.
- Exposed to a variety of office and manufacturing environments.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
