Position Summary:
As an Automation QA Engineer at Actabl, your mission is to protect Actabl’s brand by ensuring high quality product releases. You will be an integral part of our Quality Assurance team by developing the automation test scripts, executing them and identifying bugs and failures in the solution with minimal guidance. You will work closely with experienced engineers, manual test engineers, product managers, engineering managers who you will be learning from, and contribute to maintain the expected quality standard of our software solutions for hospitality. Essential Duties
- Design, write and execute automated scripts for the test scenarios
- Be an expert in the product by collaborating with the product managers to prioritize building automation for critical features
- Building an automation framework from scratch as and when required
- Integrate the automated test scripts with an continuous integration pipeline
- Effective communication to explain the automated test strategy and ask clarifying questions to the manual QA engineers regarding test cases.
- Follow all of the process guidelines for Actabl automation and make suggestions for process improvement
- Collaborate with other automation engineers by providing constructive feedback by performing code reviews
- Create a deep product knowledge and expertise across all the features that you automate.
- Seek out assistance from the Sr. Automation QA Engineer as well as conduct your own research when questions/roadblocks arise.
- Prepare automation training documents and procedures as well as train new hires in skills specific to their automation tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience
- Experience in Agile methods, particularly Scrum, preferred
- Working with a remote team across multiple time-zones
- Demonstrated skill in multi-tasking and keeping proper priority
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
- Possess strong QA foundations - manual and automation
- Development skills in programming languages especially JS or TS
- Experience working with CI/CD processes and related tools (Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience with testing tools such as Postman and Swagger
- Experience with API automation
- Expertise in Cypress, Selenium, Playwright framework
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and defect tracking software
