Get to Know This Role

The HR Coordinator performs and supports the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs such as health insurance, dental, vision, retirement (401(k)), life insurance, disability, and wellness programs and acts as backup for Payroll. The role will also include direct customer service with employees, people leaders, and external vendors. The HR Coordinator performs a variety of time-sensitive payroll preparation, benefits/data documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting duties, maintaining accuracy and confidentiality of pay and employee information. Provides general administrative support to HR team and leadership as needed.


Please note: This position is based in Chico, CA. This position is a full-time, on-site role. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.

What You Will Do

  • Ensures proper entry, reconciliation and processing of payroll and benefits documentation in compliance with applicable local, state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Directly assist employees with benefit needs, ex. ID card requests, coverage issues (coordinating with broker), enrollment questions, adding domestic partners, etc.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for the Benefits & Well-being team for both internal and external customers.
  • Provides exceptional service by responding to employee inquiries or routing employees to the correct party.
  • Processes employment separations, including final checks and coordinate employee benefit onboarding and offboarding (offer, enrollment, approval and answer questions about COBRA, portability/conversion applications, Wellness Subsidy etc.)
  • Reviews and submits final approval on timecards for FMLA purposes to interface with payroll.
  • Files electronic employee records in compliance with records retention requirements
  • Works with HR team to write inter-departmental standard operation procedures.
  • Makes necessary benefit and payroll adjustments in a timely manner.
  • Assist with benefit and wellness communications, reporting, and data audits.
  • Assists with planning and production of HR-sponsored events. Participates in company events as required, which may fall on weekends and evenings.
  • Participates in HR department meetings.
  • Performs other administrative support duties as assigned.


Please Apply if You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, business administration or related field required or any combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved required
  • 1 year Human Resources Experience required
  • Ability to successfully manage competing demands and provide exceptional customer service
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office platform including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook. Knowledge of and experience with UKG human resources and/or payroll programs preferred.
  • Must demonstrate professional behavior and have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization's goals and values. Must possess the ability to solve problems and respond appropriately to difficult employee situations.


Additional Requirements to Consider Before Applying
