We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director, Project Management who will lead and optimize a team of project managers working on cross-company initiatives. This role is essential for establishing clear project management processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. The leader will be responsible for fostering a culture of accountability, mentoring the project management team, and overseeing large, cross-functional projects. By defining best practices, managing risks and resources, and optimizing workflows, the Director will ensure that projects align with organizational goals and are delivered on time and within budget. Strong communication and strategic decision-making will be critical, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and the adoption of standardized processes. Ultimately, this role will play a foundational part in building a high-performing PMO that can support the organization’s growth while leading both daily operations and long-term project planning.

What You Will Do

  • Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead and manage the Project Management Office (PMO), fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and development through regular 1:1 meetings, performance evaluations, and growth opportunities to ensure high performance.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the project management team while promoting accountability and ownership.
  • Project Planning, Execution, and Standardization
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, high-priority projects.
  • Establish and maintain project management processes, best practices, and tools to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget by effectively managing resources, risks, and timelines.
  • Provide strategic guidance and remove roadblocks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Create templates, workflows, and dashboards within Monday.com to streamline project tracking, transparency, and stakeholder communication.
  • Use data to refine processes in planning, sizing, execution, and reporting to improve delivery speed and project success rates.
  • Develop and implement project strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Risk and Resource Management
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks through strategic planning and risk management approaches.
  • Manage resource allocation and optimize team capacity to meet the demands of multiple projects.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring transparent, clear, and consistent communication.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project success.
  • Oversee high-visibility, cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and address strategic challenges.
  • Act as the escalation point for project issues, driving resolution while maintaining momentum.
  • Build and maintain clear reporting structures to provide visibility into project health, risks, and dependencies for executive leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Continuously assess and improve project management processes and methodologies to drive efficiencies and project success.
  • Leverage data and insights from project management software (e.g., Monday.com) to inform decisions and drive improvements.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and lead retrospective meetings to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.
  • Change Management and Adoption
  • Champion the adoption of project management tools and processes across the organization.
  • Facilitate training and support for project teams and stakeholders to maximize engagement and effectiveness.

What We Need From Our Director, Project Management

  • Technical Proficiency
    • Strong experience using project management software; expertise in Monday.com is a significant plus.
    • Proficiency in reporting tools and dashboards to track KPIs, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Leadership and Soft Skills
    • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills to drive high performance and engagement.
    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to anticipate issues and drive solutions.
Experience/ Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Operations, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is required.
  • 8+ years of project management experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing direct reports.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex, cross-functional projects from inception to completion.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing project management frameworks and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically while executing operational tasks.
