PSC Group LLC has an exciting new growth opportunity located in Baton Rouge, LA. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual seeking an Accountant role in a family-oriented company that is growing tremendously. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in managing and reporting on the company’s leased assets and fixed asset portfolio, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM / 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM / 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Participates in the month-end close process by preparing adjusting and recurring journal entries and analyzing the general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of records.
• Monitor lease modifications, renewals, and terminations, and reflect changes accurately in the financial records.
• Prepare and review lease accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Reconciles Balance Sheet accounts and research differences.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure timely capitalization of asset purchases.
• Track and manage fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Remains current in accounting principles to ensure continuous improvement of procedures for optimal departmental performance and accuracy.
• Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Support special projects and initiatives as needed.
  
  

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Two (2) plus years experience preferred.
• Experience in NetSuite a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel,Outlook, Word, and Powerpoint)
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to analyze data and problem solve
• High attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional demeanor and ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resource information
