The air freight industry has experienced significant growth with increasing demand for cargo services worldwide. Demand is projected to continue increasing within areas such as e-commerce, driving global demand for air freight. The industry is also evolving with rapid transformation within digital services and new customer solutions.
SAS Cargo Group (SCG) has been successful in capturing the growth in the market and is an important enabler especially for SAS long haul operations. Our present Head of Sales is moving back to Scandinavia, and we are therefore seeking to fill the position Head of Cargo Sales North America.
Purpose
As Head of Cargo Sales North America, you will have the responsibility for sales activities in SAS Cargo in the region. The overall goal is to maximize revenues and manage and develop SAS Cargo’s customer base.
You will be leading a team of 6 employees located in the New York area and Los Angeles.
As a leader for the North American sales team, you will have the following main responsibilities:

Experience And Qualifications
The position is based at our office in Bloomfield, but traveling will be a natural part of the job.
The successful candidate will report to the responsible Head of Global Sales & Marketing, based in Copenhagen, and participate in relevant management forums.

- Secure delivery on targets with Revenue and Customer Satisfaction as the key KPI’s
- Actively strengthen SAS Cargo’s position in the region
- Coach and develop the team to reach targets and develop employees in their respective roles
- Responsible for forecasting and reporting on sales performance
- Responsible for GSA agreements and related sales activities
- Represent SCG in relevant external and internal forums

Experience And Qualifications
- Extensive Sales experience, preferably from the airfreight industry
- Solid track record from leading a commercial organization covering multiple markets
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to professional represent SCG to its customers
- Extensive leadership experience
- Commercial and strategic mindset
- Bachelor’s degree
- Solid experience in analyzing complex problem solving
- Drive, initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure
- High credibility and integrity
- Business and result oriented
- Positive and solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to create overview and multitask as priorities shift
- Ability to be at the forefront of issues and solutions
- Fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages and English
- Adhere to SAS Leadership Model
