Responsibilities

Participates in the preparation, procurement, delivery, and preservation of all solid organs procured for transplantation (kidney, heart, lung, pancreas, and liver). Assists in the operative procedure for the procurement of solid organs.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION: Associate’s degree with at least two years of operating room environment performing and/or assisting with surgical procedures or High School diploma with successful completion of a Surgical Technology Certificate Program. Certification as Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) preferred. Must have proficiency in sterile technique.

• Must have strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload. Must possess strong computer skills that should include Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with Mayo Clinic computerized medical record system and supply ordering applications preferred. Must be able to maintain the Mayo Clinic Values when interacting with staff within Mayo Clinic and at external facilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must have valid Florida Driver's License (Class E).

Call 24/7, 7 days a week. 6 days off per month plus 2 flex days (Total of 8 days off per month). 3-4 techs on call.
