Could you be the full-time onsite Assistant Trainmaster in Baltimore, MD, US we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your multifaceted expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, resourceful teammates. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of MARC passenger commuter lines, directly impacting the daily commute of thousands. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including operations, security, and maintenance), coordinate effective communication during service disruptions, and much more.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Being the first point of contact for issues regarding MARC train service in a 24/7 operations center,
  • Developing, creating, and distributing appropriate messages during service disruptions and incidents to stakeholders and passengers using various social media outlets,
  • Managing service disruptions and outages per the department SOP’s,
  • Tracking and logging incidents, malfunctions, delays, and accidents in a computerized log or database and developing required reports,
  • Acting and aiding in emergency situations and ensuring continuous compliance with MARC rules and regulations,
  • Receiving reports of disruptions and deficiencies at stations and forwarding such information to MARC and those responsible for maintenance and repair.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent,
  • Experience with shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and holding a valid driver's license,
  • Experience or understanding of railroad operations or customer service and communications,
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Organizational and time management skills,
  • Strong and effective English communication skills, both verbally and written,
  • Proficiency in handling emergency situations and compliance with rules and regulations,
  • 242 Conductor Certification or other railroad-related certifications (preferred).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 DOE.
  • Medical HSA/FSA, Dental, Vision and 401K.
  • Eligible for time off.
