EDUCATION MANAGER

OPPORTUNITY

For an upbeat, energetic, outgoing, and detail-oriented professional to establish and develop their expertise as the Education Manager for Design LAB: Learn + Build. Join our small, but mighty crew who is working to create awareness, appreciation, and improvement of the built environment through education. Must be dedicated to empowering the underserved youth of Cincinnati and promoting sustainably & socially responsible building practices. This key role will work directly with the Executive Director to transform and elevate Design LAB through its hallmark K-8 education program. This position will also oversee the Marketing & Communications Coordinator.

POSITION

  • Reports directly to the Executive Director of Design LAB and manages all aspects of the education program
  • Manage Design LAB’s Marketing & Communications Coordinator
  • Assist in planning and implementation of annual fundraiser
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed for organizational success

Plan and implement all aspects of the education program

  • Produce Resource Guide & other program materials annually
  • Manage registration and recruitment process
  • Plan & implement program-related events (Orientations, Material Pick-Up, Exhibit Set-Up, Project Drop-Off, Jury Event, Awards Ceremony, and the Appreciation Event)
  • Create meaningful relationships with our teachers and volunteers and come to any issues that arise in our classrooms with a solution-oriented approach
  • Work to continually improve the experience and impact of the program for our students

Qualifications

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; e xperience in formal or informal education preferred
  • Hyper-organized with an attention to detail and an ability to multi-task
  • Commitment to professional growth
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to manage time and work priorities independently
  • Must be hard working & willing to work weekend and evening shifts as needed (weekend work is rare)

ORGANIZATION

Design LAB is a change-making non-profit that serves the Cincinnati area. The educational program allows the organization to serve over 2000 students each year and creates change by giving underserved students an experience that will open them up to career opportunities while improving soft skills and gaining a deeper understanding of the built environment. Compensation

Compensation Range $45,000 to $50,000 commensurate with experience, with optional stipend for health insurance and 401K, on-site fitness center, free parking, and more.
