We are committed to delivering high-quality projects while maintaining strong financial oversight. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of our projects, managing accounting operations, and supporting our growth initiatives.

Job Overview

The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting functions for construction projects, with a focus on project accounting, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP) processes. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in construction accounting, with hands-on knowledge of Spectrum ERP, and a thorough understanding of project-specific financial management. The role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a deep understanding of the construction industry’s financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Accounting: Manage and oversee the financial aspects of construction projects, including job costing, billing, and financial forecasting. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project financials, including tracking budgets, costs, and revenue.
  • Spectrum ERP Management: Utilize Spectrum ERP to manage financial data, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost modules. Ensure accurate entry and processing of financial transactions within the system. Work closely with IT and project teams to ensure proper integration and functionality of Spectrum ERP for accounting needs.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR): Oversee the AR processes, including billing, collections, and cash application. Coordinate with project managers and clients to resolve outstanding balances and maintain positive cash flow.
  • Accounts Payable (AP): Supervise the AP process, including processing vendor invoices, maintaining payment schedules, and ensuring accurate coding and timely payments. Ensure compliance with contract terms and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Analyze financial performance and make recommendations for improving financial efficiency.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to accounting principles, company policies, and industry regulations. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, senior management, and other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes. Provide guidance and training to accounting staff as needed.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions and statements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting or a similar role within the construction industry.
  • In-depth experience with Spectrum ERP software and a strong understanding of project accounting principles.
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costing processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a managerial role, overseeing accounting teams.
  • Familiarity with construction-specific accounting regulations and standards.
  • Experience with other ERP systems or accounting software within the construction industry.
