Summary:

Under close supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performs technical duties related to pharmaceutical care in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Repackages and distributes prescriptions; performs compounding of IV, topical and oral medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in an accurate and timely manner.

• Documents patient and procedural information. Follows proper billing procedures.

• Restocks bays and all other work areas with medications.

• Performs inventory checks.

• Orders medications and supplies.

• Performs data entry.

• Follows proper drug and chemical storage procedures according to department guidelines.

• Maintains and cleans pharmaceutical equipment.

• Receives and triages phone calls from patients and healthcare providers.

• Provides backup front desk customer service.

• Adheres to the regulatory and practice standards of pharmaceutical care.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:

• Pharmacy Technician I

• Must possess a current State of Alaska Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern license.
  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:

• Pharmacy or related experience.
