The Commercial Electrician will be responsible for installing commercial electrical wiring, lighting, and electrical components according to local NEC codes.
Duties/Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with the customer and support staff.
- Digs underground trenches to carry cables.
- Cutting, bending, threading, and running electrical conduit materials.
- Terminating electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices.
- Installs EMT, PVC, GRC, and other conduit and cable systems.
- Install panels, disconnect, meters, and other gear- related items.
- Interpret and install building lighting controls.
- Inspects and tests powerlines and related equipment.
- Determines whether transformers, switches, or other devices are defective.
- Uses lifts, excavators, telehandlers, and other equipment during the installation process.
- Operates power tools and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of powerline installation and repair of electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of National Electric Code.
- Ability to interpret basic drawings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good work ethic and willingness to learn new methods.
- Self-motivated and driven to get job done.
- Proficient in electrical systems diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship required.
- Current clean driving record required.
- Physically able to work with heavy tools and equipment at heights.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds at a time to carry heavy cable.
