Trueline's client, a leading property management company specializing in student housing, is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join their team in West Lafayette, IN. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic accounting team, focusing on financial statement preparation and comprehensive accounting support across multiple segments.

What You'll Do As The Senior Accounting Manager

  • Collaborate closely with Market Presidents to address property owner requests
  • Spearhead financial statement production for corporate and market segments
  • Contribute to individual property financial reporting
  • Maintain detailed Balance Sheet documentation for key properties
  • Oversee critical reconciliations including depreciation, bad debt, and security deposits
  • Manage payroll entry from bi-monthly payroll runs
  • Support bank and loan reconciliation processes
  • Help establish robust financial review procedures across all departments
  • Assist with period closing procedures, property management fee reviews, and suspense account reconciliations
  • Contribute to other accounting department initiatives as needed

You'll Succeed as the Senior Accounting Manager if you Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
  • Prior experience managing staff
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-entity environment with frequent interruptions
  • Excellent prioritization and communication skills
  • A positive, owner-facing presence
  • Problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a strong attention to detail
  • Focus on continuous improvement and accountability
  • Experience with AppFolio software (preferred but not required)
