Summary

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Signal Technician with excellent troubleshooting and interpersonal skills. This position requires flexibility in managing multiple project and services-related tasks, as well as good communication skills.

As a Traffic Signal Technician, you install, maintain, and repair traffic control equipment. You maintain electrical systems and microprocessor-based controllers including relays, wiring, conflict monitors, signal suspension cables, poles, communication modules, underground conduits, related lighting, and vehicle detection. You handle calibration, troubleshoot circuit boards, run diagnostic tests, analyze data of traffic flow, and design timing of signal control devices. You also review inventory to ensure you have the tools and replacement parts needed. A traffic signal technician works independently and reports to administrative management.

  • Safe execution of small and medium-sized projects

  • Ability to lead and offer improvement of technicians, electricians, and apprentices on the team
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, evaluating, and suggesting effective solutions
  • Ensuring schedule and financial concerns are met

  • Accurately track time and cost impacts - this includes the purchasing of necessary materials
  • Timely reporting
  • Accurately construct Redline As-Builts for completed projects

Requirements:

  • Driving record allowing approval to utilize Company vehicle
  • Must be able to read traffic blueprints
  • Must be able to interpret plan set layouts.
  • Must be able to direct and oversee Traffic Signal Laborers.
  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment in order to install signal items and install power service.
  • IMSA Level II Certification (preferred)
  • Crane Truck Certification (preferred)
