Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$48.140 - $62.110 - $76.080

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

This position is primarily responsible for assuring the operational efficiency and quality of services in assigned facility and assuring timely and accurate quality review in compliance with the hospital quality plan. This position assists the hospital service lines, operational areas and medical staff by identifying potential quality events through retrospective chart review and referral of cases to the appropriate areas for follow up. This position assists with data summation and report preparation, assuring compliance with regulatory agencies, hospital policies and procedures. The quality analyst works collaboratively with identified customers, colleagues and the Manager to improve quality patient care. Assists with operational planning and provides daily work direction to achieve objectives. Assures the operational efficiency and quality of services in assigned facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical experience in various acute care settings within the last five years
  • Previous case review experience
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -PREFERRED


Essential Functions

  • Analyzes medical records Processes quality events for trends, physician peer review or operational issues. Creates a comprehensive and accurate clinical abstract in keeping with the quality event matrix. Refers appropriate cases to the Medical Staff for peer review. Maintains documentation in MIDAS. Maintain medical record review volume consistent with department norms/standards.
  • Collaboration Works collaboratively with Quality Manager to identify quality trends and assist in creating improvements in data collection process. Actively participates in system and departmental meetings. Works collaboratively to achieve goals and meet objectives.
  • Customer service Maintains positive relationships with Director, Manager, staff and other customers served.
  • Data reporting Submits accurate and timely reports.
  • Leadership Assumes department leadership at the direction of the Manager.
  • Physician peer review process Process, supply and clarify peer review abstracts. Attends appropriate medical staff committee meetings to facilitate accurate, appropriate and timely processing of peer review activities. Assists with interpretation of categories of significance/standards of care. Meets with committee chairs as needed.
  • Professional development Attend classes required by regulatory agencies. Assumes responsibilities for professional development.
  • Time management Assist other department staff with prioritization of workload. Complete other assigned projects. Completes STAT assignments when requested.

  • Basic computer skills required.
