SUMMARY OF THE JOB :

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Payments Product Manager to lead the development, enhancement, and management of our payments products and solutions.

The Payments Product Manager will be part of the Product & Profitability team and will drive the strategy, innovation / development and execution of payment services for Liberty Bank, ensuring they meet customer needs, comply with regulatory requirements, and stay competitive in the market.

This role requires a deep understanding of payment systems, customer experience, and industry trends, and will involve leading discovery and defining a strategy for consumer, small business and commercial payments, working collaboratively with technology and digital teams, as well as risk and compliance to optimize existing payments capabilities and introduce new ones into the Bank’s payments ecosystem.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Product Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for payment solutions, including ACH, wires, real-time payments and card services
  • Facilitate discovery meetings to gain insights into business processes, technology, integrations, and business objectives
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to identify trends, gaps and opportunities in payment solutions
  • Define and track KPIs to measure product performance and success; align payment product initiatives with the Bank’s broader strategic coals and business objectives

Product Development and Management:

  • Oversee the lifecycle of payments products, from ideation and development to launch, enhancement and sunset
  • Work with technology and digital teams to define requirements, prioritize features, and maintain a detailed backlog
  • Ensure products meet all regulatory and compliance standards, including NACHA rules and federal banking regulations across all applicable markets

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as the subject matter expert on payments within the organization, providing guidance to internal teams on product capabilities and market trends
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (i.e. marketing, finance, risk, compliance and operations) to support product initiatives and develop go-to-market strategies that drive adoption of payment solutions
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as payment networks, banks, and third-party vendors, to enhance capabilities
  • Partner with risk and fraud teams to enhance security and reduce payment-related risks
  • Communicate product vision, progress and results to executives and stakeholders across the organization

Customer Focus:

  • Partner with customer experience and marketing teams to understand customer pain points and improve the usability, adoption and satisfaction of using payments products
  • Engage with operational and customer-facing teams as well as consumers, small business and commercial customers to gather feedback and ensure products meet their payment needs
  • Advocate for customer-first mindset in payment product design and implementation

Minimum knowledge/skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a focus on payment systems, fintech, or financial services
  • Deep knowledge of payment systems, including ACH, RTP, wires, FedNow and card processing
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to inform decisions
  • Ability to translate customer needs into actionable product requirements
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with emerging payment technologies, including APIs, digital wallets and FinTech solutions
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as NACHA rules and PCI compliance
