Payroll Clerk

The Payroll Clerk will assist the Comptroller and work closely with the Payroll Coordinator in the day-to-day operational activities of the Finance Department as they relate to payroll.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing paper time cards for data entry into batches
• Entering new hires in ADP
• Review time card submissions by full time employees
• Analyze full time hourly time cards for overtime pay
• Issue stop payments on lost checks in ADP
• Process sick time and mandated trainings requests
• Assist with setting up open enrollment
• Process rehires, terminations, tax change, direct deposit and address changes
• Assist with Transit, FSA, Dependent Care and Parking submissions
• Respond to inquiries via payroll email
• Clean up stale checks monthly and process wage garnishments
• Provide payroll reports to the Comptroller, COO and CEO upon request
• Pull middle school wage reports to Comptroller
• Review part time hours worked against employee schedules
• Provide access to employees for creating their ADP accounts
• Serve as a back up to the Payroll Coordinator

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• College degree preferred
• Experience processing payroll preferred
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and CSV formatting
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
• Ability and commitment to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Well-developed sense of humor
