Job Overview
The Room Service Coordinator serves as a customer service liaison between patients, families, CHCO staff, and visitors with Food Services. The Coordinator is responsible for entering patient meal selections accurately and in accordance with physician diet order and facilitating operations between Room Service, Production Staff and Supervisor/Manager in the absence of management.

Department Name: Room Service
Job Status: 40 hours per week, eligible for benefits
Shift: Days. 6:00am - 4:30pm or 10:00am - 8:30pm. Weekends and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
- EDUCATION – High School diploma or equivalent
- EQUIVALENCY – Three years of relevant work experience in lieu of High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities
POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE
- No direct patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist clinical nutrition and care team with special diets and restrictions.
- Focus on proper phone and email etiquette and excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, and staff.
- Communicate to assist customers in meal selections and complete missed meals daily.
- Receive patient meal selections and enter selections into the department's Food and Nutrition ordering software system.
- Work across departments to verify patient needs.
- Communicate with Food Services staff regarding proper preparation for allergies, diet restrictions, special needs.
- Provide service recovery when needed and communicate identified system issues.
- Collaborate and communicate with Dietitians & Dietitian Assistants.
- Run patient tray carts as needed for timely meal delivery.

- COMPLEXITY: Duties are repetitive and restricted in scope but may be intricate.
- DECISION MAKING: Limited to non-standardized situations; non-routine issues are taken up with the supervisor.

- SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Normal supervision with continual review of work.
