Position: Dialysis Admissions Coordinator

Location: Irvington, NJ

Shift: Full Time (9 AM - 5 PM)

Salary: $18 - $20 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Intake: Receive referrals from hospitals, physicians, and healthcare providers, and screen potential patients for eligibility.
• Initial Contact: Contact patients/families to explain dialysis options and the admission process.
• Insurance Verification: Verify insurance benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and address billing concerns.
• Medical Record Review: Review patient records to assess suitability for dialysis and identify special needs.
• Scheduling Appointments: Schedule initial assessments, orientation sessions, and dialysis treatment start dates.
• Patient Education: Provide basic information on dialysis treatment, access options, and medication management.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, insurance, and progress notes.
• Communication: Collaborate with nephrologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Facility Tours: Conduct facility tours for patients and families, showcasing services and amenities.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations related to dialysis patient admissions.
  
  
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Medical Knowledge: Understanding of basic medical terminology, kidney disease, and dialysis treatments.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Administrative Skills: Proficient in data entry, scheduling, and record-keeping.
• Customer Service: Compassionate and patient-centered approach to admissions.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage a high volume of inquiries and maintain efficient workflow.
  
  
  

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required.
• Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with knowledge of dialysis procedures.
• Nursing home experience preferred.
