This position would monitor the day-to-day operation of the Glendora Adult Day program. The Director 1 position would Ensure the health and safety of individuals and staff through the development, implementation, and enforcement of all standards, guidelines, and best practices for designated services. This position would promote, model, and ensures adherence with person-centered standards and culture by monitoring the planning, coordination, and execution of individualized and self-directed service delivery; allowing individuals who use the service with the selection of opportunities and variety of experiences reflective of their interests and preferences.

Location: Glendora

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm

Starting Salary: $68,640 annually

Additional Requirements/Preferences: Experience overseeing a behavior program, bi-lingual Spanish a plus.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Oversees assigned program(s) through planning, organizing, directing and controlling all aspects of program services including supervision of program associates. Ensures proper delivery of services to participants and compliance with program design.

Essential Function

  • Ensures health and safety of program participants through the development, implementation and enforcement of standards, guidelines, and services for designated program(s).
  • Recruits, recommends for hire, trains, and evaluates designated staff. Schedules appropriate staff to maintain required staffing ratios.
  • Monitors and takes action within scope of authority for the fiscal operation of assigned program(s).
  • Supervises the service coordination of designated participants including, but not limited to, intake process; including all associated meetings, contacts, and training sessions. Maintains effective working relationships with participants, participant family members, referral agencies, community resources, and agency staff members.
  • Oversees quality assurance of designated program(s) inclusive of all applicable licensing, agencies, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluates staff training needs and establishes training schedules relevant to specific programs.
  • Ensures the proper completion of all required personnel and staff documentation and reports.
  • Monitors the completion of all required participant documentation and data.
  • Conducts group observations.
  • May be required to transport program participants depending on program design and location.
  • Other assignments that may need the associate's expertise, knowledge or ability.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.|Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications.

Experience

  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in the management of human services delivery or related field, working with developmental disabilities, and/or behavior issues and 2 years supervisory experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, with all levels of staff and general public.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality pertaining to the work environment.
  • Ability to properly interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of service delivery systems (Regional Center, etc.)
  • Ability to provide assistance with personal care to participants, including ability to transfer an individual who has no weight‑bearing skills.
  • Ability to push wheel chairs on a variety of terrain.
  • Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance per Easter Seals Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • Ability to pass post‑offer medical examination.
  • Ability to travel locally. Reliable transportation, proof of valid California driver's license, clean driving record, proper auto insurance, and vehicle registration. Appropriate vehicle for transportation of program participants if program requires.
  • Minimum age requirement of twenty-one.

Carrying/Lifting: Frequent/ Up to 70 lbs.

Standing: Frequent / Up to 4 hours per day

Sitting: Occasional / Up to 3 hours per day

Walking: Frequent / Up to 4 hours per day

Repetitive Motion/Activity: Ability to walk, stoop, stand, kneel for extended periods of time.

Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer monitor and read newsprint.

Travel

Environmental Exposure: Exposure to unpleasant or hazardous working conditions(noise, heat, dust, bodily fluids, etc.). Indoor/outdoor envirmonment.
