Description

Job Duties for Insurance/Treatment Plan Coordinator – Dental

  • Insurance Verification:
  • Verify private insurance and Medicaid for all locations
  • Call insurance companies for information or faxes when website access is unavailable.
  • Call patient to explain (prior to visit) insurance and payment due for all locations.
  • Complete insurance verification forms for new patients.
  • Add/update insurance info in Dentrix.
  • Treatment Plan Coordination:
  • Present and explain treatment and payment options (insurance/slide) for patients at all locations*
  • Ensure patients sign acknowledgment of treatment and payment.
  • Communication & Coordination:
  • Communicate with the front desk for any insurance/payment issues or balances due throughout the day.
  • Call patients to explain insurance coverage and balances due.
  • Prior Authorizations & Pre-Approvals:
  • Submit and follow up on prior authorizations (PA’s) for Medicaid and private insurance across all locations.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Billing or Coding certification preferred

Experience With Medical And Dental Preferred

Two years of experience in billing operations of a health facility

Ability to observe and document work-flows

Clinical knowledge sufficient to converse with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to follow-up and develop positive relationships

Strong healthcare software experience

Ability to read and comprehend general instructions, correspondence, and memos
