Robert Bosch Tool Corporation seeks Quality Engineer, Sr. (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 1800 W. Central Road, Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056. Act as a customer advocate, guiding the development processes to align with customer needs and expectations while mentoring junior engineers in quality practices. Quality Representation in New Product Development. Serve as a key member of the New Product Development Team. Establish and implement the Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) strategy based on customer and system requirements using Code beamer as the tool. Ensure the Drawing and Specs includes Safety, Legal and Functional aspects correctly identified and agreed with Project Team. Act as the Customer Quality Engineer, ensuring that all new product development activities align with customer requirements and expectations. Monitor perceived quality, customer complaints, and warranty returns, maintaining direct interaction with customers to gather feedback and insights. Focus on achieving manufacturing process capabilities that align with company goals related to internal and external quality costs. Define warranty goals by analyzing existing tools and planning corrective actions. Train and mentor Quality Engineers 1 and 2 in quality methods and systems, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the team. Test products and packaging at key stages of the development process, establishing criteria for field testing. Conduct and update Product Quality Gates (QG) throughout the development cycle, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with the purchasing team to identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities. Support Global Tools Manufacturing locations in resolving quality issues and lead quality assessments for approving and improving assigned suppliers. Write and update department and company procedures and work instructions, focusing on continuous improvement. Lead internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and Quality System requirements. Support the development of the customer application matrix and requirements through an active customer interface (UX). Define warranty goals by analyzing existing tools and planning corrective actions. Prepare and schedule product and accessory tests at Bosch plants and supplier laboratories. Contribute actively during FMEA meetings, sharing lessons learned from previous products. Support the purchasing team in identifying and pursuing cost-saving opportunities. Route PSS (Problem Solving Sheets) for complex product or process issues. Ensure the availability of spare parts for each new product during the launch phase by making requests in JIRA. Provide training and mentorship to Associate and Project Quality Engineers in Quality methods and systems. Define product reliability using Weibull analysis. Regularly report on the warranty status of the assigned tool segment. Conduct research on field complaints, analyzing the root causes and patterns. Communicate the nature of complaints to key stakeholders, including Marketing, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams. Request corrective actions and tracks the progress, ensuring timely communication of corrective action implementation dates. Provide support to PTNA manufacturing locations to resolve supplied part quality issues. WAGE RANGE: $121,701 - $123,000. REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field. Plus 5 years of experience as a Product Development Quality Engineer, Reliability Quality Engineer or occupation involving quality engineering. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Quality methodologies, including FMEA, DOE, 8D problem-solving, and Agile Project Management; (2) Statistical analysis and quality control tools; (3) Product Safety and Liability, and Risk Assessment; (4) Warranty analysis and customer interaction; and (5) Battery related topics within power tools scope. Travel: 12% per year / International and Domestic travel.
