We are seeking Legal Intern / Law Clerk based in Elgin, IL (Northwest of Chicago) to provide support to our General Counsel and Legal function in topics ranging across Commercial Contracts, Corporate Governance, Supply Chain, Compliance, and Legal Training, among others.

HARTING's Intern Development Program (Summer 2026) consists of full-time, paid, and on-site internships. Our internships are an opportunity to work on hands-on projects with your team, to work cross-functionally with other departments, and gain exposure to the technical aspects of our company. Please note: we do not provide housing in Illinois.

Pay ranges from $20-24 per hour, commensurate with student's class standing and experience.

You will have the opportunity to be exposed to the following:

• Collaborate with the legal and business teams in assisting with and drafting commercial agreements, supply chain agreements, vendor agreements, marketing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements
• Actively participate in legal meetings and trainings
• Develop and assist with the implementation of new legal operations processes designed to improve efficiency and risk management
• Assist with the creation of training resources and legal templates
• Provide administrative support to the legal team as needed, including taking notes during meetings and workshops, preparing correspondence, organizing legal files and other organizational tasks

Skills And Experience To Thrive In This Role

• Enrolled in an accredited US Juris Doctor (JD) program
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams; Legal research proficiency
• Participation in prior internships, extracurricular activities, community organizations and/or professional associations, preferred
• No substantive legal experience is required; some familiarity with contract law concepts from a course or law school clinic is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
• Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
• Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
